Award winning and international artist . I was recently published in NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC for articles on the environment and sustainability. I have also had motion graphics+soundtrack work show at ..."Currents 2012: The Sante Fe International New Media Festival", and at VIDEOHOLICA, a video festival in VARNA, BULGARIA. I have devoted most of the past two years to investigating High Dynamic Range, HDR, photography. Seattle Based photographer Nick Shiflet. I have been creating my own visual vision upwards of twenty years. I want to explore more of my artistic mission. I also want to apply any of those artistic and photographic skills to more commercial applications such as image making for weddings, portraits, products photography, families.

I have had to alter my mission as a photographer as this film is no longer available. These are a collection of portraits with friends and family over the years. I find the altered tones of infrared to create visual and photographic imagery out of this world... in a formal manner.

About Nick Shiflet, Photography and Art. : NICK SHIFLET Biography I have been creating art at some level for the past twenty years. Attendance to the art program at the University of Washington cemented my desire to continue with creativity. My work has ranged thru oil painting, photography, screen printing, clock making, camera building, video art, super-8 films, sound track development/audio creation, and television broadcast. My main focus in photography has been using black and white infrared film and to a lesser degree pinhole photography. The only decent infrared film was made by Kodak and they no longer produce that film. I have used that film exclusively for so long it’s hard for me to use ‘regular film’. This past year I created a book online called “The Infrared Lament: Human Beings”, a collection of infrared photos with people. I plan to make a second volume dedicated to things and places. These two books are to mourn the loss of this beautiful film in our modern ways. In addition I created a book of stills and photo sessions with my character from and for the production of my TV show Shifterland. Shifterland has aired every week on SCAN TV(local public access) since the spring fall of 2006 till 2010 with somewhere around a 100 total episodes. I write, design, storyboard, edit video and audio, create sound tracks, archive, encode-create DVD’s, and film. I do everything except film myself, though I have done that on desperate occasions.
